Frequently Asked Questions-2022

What covid protocols will be in place:  It is really too early to tell what the requirements will be for Covid this summer.  Grizzly Creek Ranch will be developing their own plan, following CDC and county public health orders as summer camp season approaches.  They work closely with public health, who will review their plan before the season starts.  The camp was able to operate in person last summer without incident, due to their diligence.  They do anticipate, as a minimum, requiring a covid test before coming to camp and following guidelines that schools follow, which may include vaccinations.  Certainly more to follow; updates will be posted here as they become available.

If Rotary Clubs are paying by check, where do they send it?  Make check out to Rotary District 5160 (Camp Royal) and mail to: Camp Royal c/o Gary Wegener, 30 Roman Court, Woodland, CA 95776.  Payment is due within 10 days after confirmation of slots.

What if our club cannot fill a slot? Fees are not refundable however clubs may coordinate between themselves if a club has an ‘unsponsored camper’ they would like to see sponsored.  The Registrar will maintain a list of ‘unsponsored campers’ we are aware of and try to facilitate the process.

2022 will be Camp Royal’s first year at Grizzly Creek Ranch Camp outside of Portola, CA. What are the facilities like?  Certainly less rustic than Bar 717, the previous home for Camp Royal.  See this facility tour of Grizzly Creek camp.    Lain Hensley and the Odyssey team will continue to provide their excellent programming.

The Camper Online Registration process has three parts.  Shortly after your Rotary contact inputs your contact info into a camp database (the slot reservation file), the Registrar will send you an email explaining the registration process and contains an attachment of waivers to sign and mail in, and two links (one for registration with the camp and one for registration with Rotary).  If you have to modify your SNJ camp registration, you need to call their office at 530-832-1085. Please have the following information available so that our staff are able to assist you:

    • Subject Line of Confirmation Email
    • Program Registered For
    • Participant Name
    • Information you need to adjust on your form

If a camper has to modify the online Rotary registration, use the link to access it.   And remember, you can always contact the Registrar if you have any questions (gwegener4098@gmail.com or 530 908 4914).
