Parent Info 2022

Updated 28 April 2022 by Gary Wegener

Youth (titled New Generations) is one of Rotary’s areas of focus.  Programs include Interact (a high school club sponsored by Rotary), Rotoract (a young adult program for 18 to 30 age group), international Youth Exchange, and ‘Rotary Youth Leadership Awards’ (or RYLA).  RYLA is a youth leadership camp; in our district it is called Camp Royal.

This year (2022) Camp Royal will be at a new location, Grizzly Creek Ranch Camp outside of Portola, CA.   Two adjacent Rotary districts (5180 and 5190) use it for their RYLA programs and have found it very accommodating.  While the facilities will be new to us, our very successful camp program led by Lain Hensley and Odyssey will not change.

Camp Royal is for juniors, going into their senior year in high school.  Individual Rotary Clubs reserve slot(s) for camp,  select their campers and guide them through the registration process.

If your son or daughter is a junior in high school and interested in attending, you are encouraged to contact your local Rotary club for more information.  (Just google Rotary Club, your town).  If you have any questions or concerns you may contact the Camp Royal Committee CampRoyal@Rotary5160.com

Questions related to reservations may be directed to Gary Wegener, Registrar, at 530 908 4914 or gwegener4098@gmail.com
